There many procedures that can be involved in a full mouth reconstruction and the procedures used for your mouth are customized to meet your specific needs. Full mouth reconstruction includes such procedures as:

• Aesthetic restorations for teeth—crowns, veneers, dental bonding and composite resin fillings
• Tooth whitening
• Periodontal treatment
• Gum recontouring
• Root canal treatment
• Orthodontic treatments such as braces or aligners
• Dental implants
• Oral surgery to reposition the jaw and fix a misaligned bite

Candidates for full mouth reconstruction have experienced the loss of teeth and have teeth that have experienced damage, whether from wear, bruxism, or erosion. You may be experiencing severe jaw pain, or pain in the joint, a condition known as temporomandibular disorder. We will conduct a thorough evaluation to determine if a full mouth reconstruction is right for you. This exam consists of:

• Checking the overall appearance of your mouth. We will look at the general appearance of your teeth, noting teeth that are misshapen or discolored. We will also look at your face to see if anything looks off balance.
• Checking your teeth. We will inspect your teeth for signs of decay and other damages, such as cracks, chips, and fractures. Depending upon the issues found, we can determine the best restorative options.
• Checking your gums. We will also inspect your gums, checking for signs of gum disease, recession, and anything else that appears odd, such as lesions.
• Evaluating your jaw. With the use of x-rays, we can evaluate the condition of your jaw. We can check for bone loss, alignment issues or fractures. We can also examine the periodontal ligaments that hold your teeth in place and check for signs of infection.

Throughout the exam, we will take images of your mouth, x-rays, and impressions. These will allow us to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will provide you with the best possible results.
